Hedychium muluense





Description: Flowers present on terminus of main vegetative stalk. Green, tightly spaced bracts form a cylinder from which white flowers on long penducles emerge. Stamens are red. The fruit is yellow and almond-shaped, containing two rows of seeds with distinctive pink aril. Petioles long; ligules short and curved.


Distribution: Kinabalu


Ecology/Habitat: Found alongside a stream in the Kinabalu Botanical Gardens in a similar habitat to species 6.
