Description: As characteristic of the genus, flowers are held in a cone on a basal stalk with pulvinus present. Bracts are red and tightly spaced. Peduncle very short, keeping cone close to the ground. Ligule very short, not extending far beyond the leaf base, and cleft. Petiole short. Leaf undersides hairy.

Ecology/Habitat: Found in the Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Center Botanical Gardens. Natural distribution and habitat unknown.
