Description: Petiole and ligule long, with leaf undersides hairy. Flowers in characteristic location and shape for the genus (see entry for species 12), with bracts and flowers red.
Distribution: Deramakot
Ecology/Habitat: Found clustered with many other ginger species along a logging trail in open canopy and wet, clay soil. Although discovered in floodplains, the species name is misleading because it is widely distributed in drier woodlands, as well.
