Description: Plant small (less than 3 feet tall), as expected for the Globba genus, with cleft ligule so short that it barely extends beyond the leaf base. Leaves apetiolate with a dark purple underside, especially prominent on new growth. Inflorescence erect on the terminus of leafy stalk, bearing orange scorpion-shaped flowers with long peduncles and no bracts. Flowers have an enlongated, hooked style (the source of the scorpion shape).

Ecology/Habitat: Found in the wet, darker understory of the formerly logged plots than most other ginger species at this location.
