Zingiber sp.





Description: Identified as a Zingiber because of the presence of a pulvinus. Petiole and ligule short, with no hair or reticulation on the vegetative parts. Flowers were not visible, but assumed to be arranged in cones of tightly spaced, closed, colored bracts supported on a short basal stalk from the rhizome, in accordance with the rest of the genus.

Ecology/Habitat: Found in very open canopy along the trail in a logged plot.
