I am broadly interested in biodiversity.
One interest is the assembly of biodiversity, both in terms of individual lineages and regional assemblages. To date studies I have been involved with have used molecular phylogenies to investigate the origins, distribution and diversification of various groups. For me understanding the processes that shape diversity patterns are of greatest interest.
Current projects include:
- Fijian fern diversity
- role of Antarctica in Southern Hemisphere distribution patterns
- plant dispersal
- phylogenetic diversity
- evolutionary rates in plants
- marine metagenomics
