Melastoma sp
Habitus shrub. Stem cylindrical, hairy, woody, without sap.
interpetiolar ridge conspicuous, hairy. Leaf simple, opposite, without stipule;
petioles cylindrical, hairy; blades lanceolate; apex acuminate; base cordate; five nerved; margin entire;
upper surface hairy, dark green; lower surface hairy, light green. Inflorescence terminal, peduncles angular, hairy;
flower calyx hairy with five sepals; flower color dark purple, corolla with five petals, stamen fertile and steril present.
This species located in Mount Kinabalu.
