Gaya rope ecology project (argument)
From BiodivBorneo09
The community residing on ropes between buoys at Gaya Island have no differences in species richness between different disturbance levels or ages of the ropes, but they do have a difference in species richness based on the environment around the rope. Our study showed no significant statistical difference when the species richness of ropes experiencing various disturbance levels and ages were surveyed. We did find that there was a significant variation in species richness between ropes that were nearby ocean, coral, or sand. The ropes near the open ocean had the greatest species richness, and the coral had the least.
