Description: Shoots tall (approximately 6 ft) with light green leaves and stems.
Leaves long, oval, with long drip tip and no underside color.
Ligule short and curved with petiole and pulvinus not present.
Flowers arranged in a large (approximately 6 in.) cone with tightly spaced lanceolate pink bracts, emerging from the terminus of a small basal shoot that is arranged along the vegetative stalk in a way that resembles a side shoot.
The cone disintegrates quickly into a mucilaginous mass that makes detailed flower morphology difficult to discern.
Ecology/Habitat: Found near trail in very open canopy, in wet, clay soil with thin leaf litter. Shoots densely clumped, preventing other vegetation from occurring with it.
